Modern laminated gulet with mahogany wood, plastic or stainless nail, staples and epoxy resin, has serious advantages, i.e. longer operation life of the boat, longer haul-out period, much less maintenance cost, more stronger structure, dry bilges if it was constructed very well. But, if there will be even small damage on the underwater hull body because of crash to the rocks and other vessels, repair cost will be extremely higher than classic construction gulet, also, if you travel all around the world with your gulet, it will be difficult in some countries to find skilled carpenter and epoxy material for repair of laminated construction.

Answer: Certainly. Specially, transom sterned gulet has been successfully constructed. Steel construction of round stern gulet is not chosen because of difficulty on giving the characteristic stern shape to the steel. On the other hand,  all kind of yacht over 35 meters in length will not be constructed in wood, so for the gulet, steel construction over 35 meters is our recommendation.
